Sunny Day

Oh what a beautiful day it is, here in Minnesota. We missed a beautiful outdoor wedding in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, lastnight. Our neighbors son was married. We had plans to take the motorhome and have another mini vacation. Without snow! Hubby has been under the weather with a nasty cold or allergies. Not sure which. Symptoms are so much alike. He thought I could ride along with our friends but I was not comfortable leaving. So I stayed home too. Parents of the groom are home and I talked with Mom Mona and she said it was absolutely beautiful and emotional too. I can imagine. I have been there with our three sons and daughters wedding. Its harder on the Moms, then the Dads. Not sure why. Maybe because us Moms are more emotional?
Summer is here. The humming birds are starting to come back to there feeders along with the finches, orioles, cardinals, blue jays, grosbeaks, cowbirds, wrens etc etc. We strive to keep the feeders filled and in place for our flying friends but sometimes its a challenge with the squirrels
and the raccoons. They are a nuisance.
Just heard on CNN that Ted Kennedy is hospitalized with stroke symptoms. Praying for his recovery. The political arena is getting nasty. This is the hardest part of election year. Understanding how these candidates can be so cutting. I personally believe it will be between McCain and Obama. Who I will vote for remains a mystery, even to myself.

Spring is here!

It was a long winter here in Minnesota and a cool spring is upon us. Every morning I check out the local paper to see what the weeks temps will be and we are to be in the 50-60 range. If the wind would not be so strong it would probably seem warmer. It is now trying to rain and make my weary bones ache too. I have allergies and Del is coming down with a head cold. So it goes!
Mothers Day this past Sunday and the Pankeys were our hosts for the occasion. All of the Bloch family were present with the exception of Cindy, Bob, Krista and Brandon. Cindy had to work and not sure about the other three. Our family is getting so large and harder to get everyone together so when we do we know we are blessed. Bob and Krista are buying a house in Hastings. Grandpa will go with them on a walk-through tomorrow and I believe they close on Saturday. They are excited. They have a townhome in Hastings now but with two golden retrievers they need more space as well as a yard to let them run.
Must tell you about our mini vacation a couple weeks ago. We left here in the motorhome on thursday morning. Stopped in Glenwood to see Dels cousin Marge. On to Graceville to see Aunt Joyce in the nursing home. Arrived at Bob and Ruths in Claire City around 7 pm. Thursday night. We called them about 15 miles out so they were surprised but happy to see us. Had a great visit and it was fun to see the Ebels and Gauklers also. Friday morning we went with Bob to the local cafe for breakfast and it wasn't long and the big snow flakes started coming down. Bob said "oh just a few flakes, it will pass us!" Well guess what? We had 15-18 inches of wet snow in the next 24 hours. We went to Nan and Kevins for dinner on Saturday night and got stuck with Bobs car infront of the motorhome coming home. Oh my! Sunday morning when it was time to pack up and leave for Fergus Falls, the big slideout stripped gears and would not go in. Kevin used his skidloader to lift and close the slideout. Needless to say we could not use it the rest of the trip. When we arrived in Fergus there was no where to park other then in the street in front of the Hutchins. All in all it was a good trip. We enjoyed our time with Lynn and Rog. Dels Mom is doing well in her new home. (VA Nursing Home) Her room is so much more roomier than the one she had at the Broen. She adjusts well for a soon to be 92 year old. Her birthday is tomorrow. Happy Birthday Mom!
Neighborhood bible study is winding down. Only one more session left. Beth Moore series at Hosanna is also coming to an end. Have so enjoyed the Psalms. Sounds like we will be having grandchildren a couple days a week to help out. That will be fun.
Until next time!
